Praise the Lord! We shot the last scene of the movie today. It took place at a small cemetery up the road a little ways, and since there haven’t been any fresh graves in it for at least 80+ years (I think), we had to make our own. Here’s how we did it:
1. Laid down some blankets in a mound shape
2. Covered the blankets with black plastic
3. Covered the plastic with dirt, shaping the mound as we went
I couldn’t believe how real it looked!
At any rate, this completes the production phase of the project, only one week and three days before it must be postmarked for the festival. Lord willing we’ll have it finished on time; I’ve got the final cut roughed in, and am now working on getting audio levels worked out. Next Saturday my sound consultant Dave Brooks is going to come and critique everything so it will be as good as possible.
One more thing: you can be looking for The Journal trailer, coming out some time either tonight or during the week of July 30th, Lord willing.
Soli Deo Gloria!
